TEENS CODING CAMP
Introduction to Python with multi projects: operations, dice game, cryptography, drawing with turtle
In this Python coding camp, your child will get an introduction to Python scripting language and make several projects:
- ALGORITHM At the beginning of the camp, we will start softly with an introduction to algorithm with Scratch and Python, to explain the basic functions (print, input, condition, variables, loops). Teens will first type the program with blocks, then in scripting, to make operations, time tables and make a dice game.
- CRYPTOGRAPHY They follow our animator’s step-by-step instructions, to encrypt and decrypt messages with the César encoding algorithm. On the principle of the “Who is?” game, each team will have to guess the character hidding behing the encrypted clues. They will have time to invent their own clues and have the opponent team guess… we’re having fun while discovering the principles of cryptography!
- DESIGN They discover the Turtle drawing module and code functions to draw the branches of their snowflakes. They will be able to change colors, size and animate their designs, and customize their projects to have a better understanding of the logic and get more familiar with Python.
- CODING Teens learn the coding logic (display, position, variable, operators, while and for loops, condition, functions, turtle) and type their first lines of Python to make algorithms. Python is a structured coding language, ideal to start scripting coding. Python is part of the French high-school program and ISN (informatique et sciences du numérique) option.
